This workshop is open to all musicians (even if you don’t consider yourself a singer!) The use of the human voice in therapeutic music can be an effective way to connect and share empathy. We’ll cover how to create a soothing tone of voice, how to be expressively empathetic, and how to use patterns and variations to stay within a key or mode if you are singing a cappella. We’ll do a bit of ear training to find anchor notes. If you are an instrumentalist as well, you can accompany your vocal improv, and there will be chord progressions to apply that you can transpose to any key.
