This workshop is for both singers and any instrumentalists. Learning to sight-sing is a good way to develop your ability to pick up tunes by ear, and to remember new tunes, whether you are a singer, a harpist, a guitarist, or an oboist… Any instrumentalist can benefit from learning to sight-sing. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of sight singing, get a handout with sight-singing exercises, and get links to mp3s of these exercises. We’ll cover learning intervals and chords by how they relate to the major scale, and what to do about those notes that are not in the scale. We’ll touch on rhythms and end with a fun “Name That Tune” quiz.
