In this workshop, open to all instruments, you'll learn about form, mood, and melodic motifs, and how to use these tools when improvising on the fly! You can improve your improvisational playing by understanding what effect these choices will have on the listener: modes, chord progressions, melodic contour, harmonic content, and rhythmic elements. These elements can work together to create a sense of place, and an intentional journey from one place to another. You will be able to apply each tool as we progress through the workshop, so have your instrument ready to play!
