With Verlene's guidance, you will learn to apply chord extensions and substitutions, along with rhythmic elements from modern styles to co-create "jazzy" arrangements in real-time during the two-hour workshop. Handouts are provided, including chord substitution charts, chord extension charts, and traditional tunes that can be arranged. Verlene uses Sibelius in a shared screen to demonstrate how the ideas can be implemented. You'll also get a PDF of the arrangements created during the workshop.
